Participants will practice two to three times per week from mid November through April. Through the generosity of Siuslaw School District, the club uses the Siuslaw Middle School to practice in. Teams play in one to two tourna- ments per month, competing against teams from all over Oregon and Southern Washington. Tournaments are usually one-day tournaments on a weekend, starting at 8 a.m. and continuing into the early evening. Each team plays an average of five matches per day during tournaments. Athletes, coaches and families have come to embrace these times, have fun while learning. This year the entire club fee is $185 per player, and the fee covers all the tournaments, insurance for practices and tournaments, plus a team sweat- shirt, backpack and T-shirt that they get to keep. Club director Mike Rose said, “We keep our fees extremely low because we have some great fundraisers, like the Viking Cup golf Tournament, plus all of our coaches are volunteers.” The membership fee for most other clubs range from $500 to a few SVC 3C C RESWELL 7:30 P .
