New Lane County program offers assistance with property taxes
Lane County is participating
in a new state initiative
designed to help homeowners
who fall behind in their proper-
ty taxes.
The Oregon Homeownership
Stabilization Initiative (OHSI)
was created to administer
United States Treasury Hardest
Hit Funds, which provide fore-
closure prevention and commu-
nity housing stabilization
through direct assistance to
homeowners.
“Creating
healthy
and
vibrant communities is a priori-
ty of Lane County,” said Lane
County Assessor Mike Cowles.
“This initiative will help pro-
vide a safety net for people who
are at risk of losing their homes
and also ensure County servic-
es don’t lose funding as a
result.
