SAUNDERS—Dan Neil Saunders, born June 17, 1953, in Fond-du-lac, Wis., to Verda and Preston Saunders, died Sept. 30, 2016. He was preceded in death by both his parents; his sister, Vicky Saunders; and his broth- er, David Saunders. He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter and son-in- law, Cara and Michael Simington; granddaughter Dani Simington; grandson Gabe Simington; brother Preston Saunders of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother Larry Saunders of Fond-du- lac, Wis.; and 12 nieces and nephews. Dan joined the army in 1970 and was stationed in Texas and then Germany where he met Diane Schofield and married Oct. 1, 1976. Dan was honor- ably discharged in 1978. He loved fishing and his animals, but most of all he loved his family. At his request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
