Oregon voters must be registered by Oct. 18
The deadline to register as
a voter in the November elec-
tion is Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Lane County voters can
register or confirm their reg-
istration is current by visiting
www.oregonvotes.org.
The website, maintained by
the Oregon Secretary of
State’s Office, makes regis-
tering and updating voter reg-
istrations simple.
“The website is a great tool
for voters who want to con-
firm their registration status
before the deadline,” said
County
Clerk
Cheryl
Betschart. “It is easy, fast and
provides a nearly immediate
update to our Lane County
voter records.”
To check your voter regis-
tration
status
at
ore-
gonvotes.org: Select the
“Voter Registration” option
and click on “Check or
Update Your Registration.”
Voters can search for their
registration information by
name and birthdate. The
results will indicate whether a
voter’s status is active and list
the address to which the bal-
lot will be mailed.
If any of this information is
incorrect, select “Update
Registration” to provide cor-
rect information by Oct. 18.
To register to vote in
Oregon at oregonvotes.org:
The online registration option
is available only to those with
a valid Oregon driver’s
license, DMV-issued identifi-
cation card or learner’s per-
mit.
People who are not regis-
tered to vote in any Oregon
county may register online at
www.oregonvotes.org no later
than 11:59 p.m., Tuesday,
Oct. 18.
Other registration options:
• Submit a voter registra-
tion form to the Elections
Office by 4 p.m., Tuesday,
Oct. 18.
• Mail a voter registration
card to the Elections Office
with a postmark no later than
Tuesday, Oct. 18.
New voters who will turn
18 on or before the Nov. 8
Election Day can register by
