2 ❘ Oktoberfest ❘ S EPTEMBER 28, 2016 6th Annual Oktoberfest Oct. 1, 2016 • 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. • Florence Events Center ho doesn’t love a good time? The City of Florence is known for its many fabulous events. There’s nothing like the annual Rhododendron Festival, Rods ’n’ Rhodies invitational car show and now we have Oktoberfest! This year’s Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 1, is going to be bigger and bet- ter than ever — and no, I’m not exaggerating one bit. Florence Area Chamber of Commerce’s traditional daytime celebration includes music by Sam’s Polka Gems and the Alpine Echoes Band and dancing by the talented and fun Tirolean and CYAN MAGENTA YELLOW BLACK W Skandia Leikarringen Dancers. There will be traditional German food and beverage for purchase from some of our local nonprofit organizations all day. An all-day pass for the music, dancing, races and fun is $7 at the door. Then, take a little break for what we’re proudly touting as the Oregon Coast Championship Weiner Dog Races outside at 3 p.m. Come back inside for more music, dancing and games during the happiest of Happy Hours with a special beverage price of just $4 for beer, cider and wine tokens. Here’s where we’re going a little less traditional — we will be rockin’ reggae (infused with a little psychedelia) from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with Eugene’s T-Club Band. So bring your dance shoes and let us have a good time! Florence Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with its members to produce the area’s top events.
