COM Saturday, Sept. 3 O PEN HOUSE FOR F LORENCE D EMS Everyone is invited to an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Florence Democratic Campaign Office, 4969 Highway 101, Suite 2A, in Munsel Plaza north of Fred Meyer. A RTS AND CRAFTS SHOW The 2016 Holiday Market art and craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and tomorrow, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a yearly event in the event center of Three Rivers Casino Resort. Proceeds from booth rentals benefit the food bank. Last year $2,000 was donated to Florence Food Share. This year the donation will be given to Project Blessing in Reedsport to benefit the smaller coastal communities. The event includes jewelry, quilts, stained glass, paintings, woodwork- ing, metal work, birdhouses, garden art and more. Wednesday, Sept. 7 S UPERINTENDENT SPEAKS AT FACC Siuslaw School District Super- intendent Andy Grzeskowiak will speak at the monthly meeting of the Florence Area Community Coalition at 9 a.m. in the Bromley Room of the Siuslaw Public Library, 1460 Ninth St. Grzeskowiak will provide updates about the Florence schools and share his vision for the future of the school system. The meeting is open to the general public. V AN F ANS TO MEET The monthly meeting and lunch- eon for The Van Fans will be at The Shorewood, on Spruce Street, begin- ning at 11:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome. There will be a catered lunch for $8.50 and there is no cost to join the group. Van Fans is a group of volunteers to keep the cancer van in operation for the community.
