Bike the Rogue cycling event gearing up for annual race
GOLD BEACH — The sce-
nic seventh annual Bike the
Rogue (BTR) road bicycling
event takes place Saturday,
Sept. 10, at Buffington Park in
Gold Beach.
The event features three dif-
ferent rides on low-traffic
roads: 25 miles/1,100 vertical
feet ($30); 40 miles/2,000 ver-
tical
feet
($40);
and
100km/62.5 miles/4,000 verti-
cal feet ($50).
All three routes follow the
banks of the Rogue River and
cross two bridges in this wild
and remote southwestern cor-
ner of Oregon. Both the 40-
mile and the 100km rides finish
along the Pacific Ocean, with
panoramic views of beaches,
sea stacks and rugged coastline.
