Laurel Bay Gardens
ome join Laurel Bay Gardens, premier sponsor of the Florence Green Fair, on Saturday,
June 11, at the Florence Events Center. This year’s exhibit features organic gardening soils
and products to help gardeners learn how to put “green concepts” in their landscape.
Laurel Bay Gardens’ staff of lawn,
garden, landscaping and irrigation
experts will be there to answer all
your gardening questions, and to
show off some of their new “green”
products for helping you put the
“Oh!” in organic gardening in your
home and garden.
Because Laurel Bay Gardens
wants customers to succeed, they
will offer free seminars and displays
to help you "get growing!" These
include “How to Put 'Organic' Into
Your Garden,” “Build Your Own Fairy
Garden! Explore the World of
Miniature Gardens,” and “Creating
Your Own 'Jack and the Beanstalk'”
in their planting corner, the last of
which is for kids. Staff will help youth
plant their own bean seeds to take
home in an organic peat container
filled with their custom-blended
GroMor potting soil.
You can learn many easy-to-use
tips and tricks for creating and main-
taining your yard, garden and patio
plants. Did you know that
Diatomaceous Earth helps keep fleas
away, or you can use vinegar to help
reduce weeds in your yard?
You can also learn what products
are safe around kids, pets and water-
ways; and which ones can help you
grow the best-tasting fruits and veg-
etables right in your own yard.
Be sure to enter the drawing for a
Laurel Bay Gardens $50 gift certifi-
cate.
New this year to Laurel Bay's
exhibit are organic fruit preserves
and fruit shrub drinks, woven cotton
towels from India, sea salt soap from
Maine, planters with natural cork and
handmade myrtlewood garden trugs
and baskets.
The exhibit will include samples of
some of Laurel Bay's custom-formu-
lated soil solutions to help plants
thrive naturally in Florence-area bio
