The first special exhibit will take place
in October and November. This will be

show.
In December, 2016, the FEC will offer

FLORENCE — Backstreet Gallery
welcomes Shelly Medeiros, jewelry
designer, as its newest member. Her work
now appears at the gallery.
Medeiros is self-taught in the ancient
technique of wire wrapping by which she
creates her special brand of handmade
jewelry.
Leather plays a significant part in many
of her pieces.
Using semi-precious stones, crystals
and leather, Medeiros weaves curvilinear
designs into beautiful wearable art.
Her talents as an artisan developed sub-
sequent to her retirement from a career in
the accounting world.
After vacationing in Florence, she and
her husband moved here to take advan-
tage and inspiration from the beautiful
surroundings.
Along with the work of 20 some artists,
visitors can find Medeiros’ work at
Backstreet Gallery, 1421 Bay St., which
is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and
8 p.m. on Friday evenings.
