Durst, Moore featured artists at Silver Lining Gallery FLORENCE — April showers bring two unique imagery artists and their strik- ing photography to The Gallery Above the Silver Lining Boutique, 2217 Highway 101, for the month. The gallery will host a champagne and hors d’eorve reception during the Second Saturday Artwalk, April 9, between 3 and 5 p.m. “Your senses will be titillated, your eyes will be filled with wonder, your imagination will run wild and wonderful- ly trying to take in all of their combined creativity and talents,” said gallery owner Kimberly Fleenor. The two featured visual artists are Al Moore, whose work is the result of mak- ing ordinary object extraordinary, and Bill Durst, who creates unique digital compo- sitions using tools that are available from Photo Shop and Paint Shop. “The results are completely astound- ing,” said Fleenor. “His compositions begin with a purely imaginary concept and then metamorphosis takes place. Durst doesn’t keep record of his steps, so all of his works are truly one of a kind. Moore has been interested in the pursuit of the perfect photographic experience from a young age. His past experiences, “Old Bridge” by artist Bill Durst such as working in the photo labs for the NASA programs and his complete passion for race cars, influence his works in ways of wonderment for the viewers. Moore covered Formula 1, CanAm and Indy Car racing, has been published in Road and Track, AutoWeek, Racing Wheels, World Car Guide, and the British magazine Motor Sport. “Needless to say, he excels at what he loves and his attention to detail truly sets him apart from the rest,” said Fleenor. “Both artists works are fresh, unabashed and filled with excitement. Come speak to the artists about their methods, equipment and technique when creating their art. Sher Rosenburg joins Backstreet Gallery’s artist lineup FLORENCE — Backstreet Gallery recently announced a new member, Sher Rosenberg. Her work has appeared in Celebrate Arts, where she won several awards and honorable mentions. Like many artists, the affection for art began in Rosenburg’s childhood. In her case, it was while being raised on a cattle ranch in central California. This offered a great atmosphere of “fresh air, wide open spaces, critters and chores to spark my creativity,” said Rosenburg. “From gram- mar school through the start of my teens, I drew and painted much of what I saw.” After living in the Bay Area and Montana, she relocated to Florence in 2002, when she met renowned artist and instructor Katheryn Davis. Though Rosenburg took but a few classes, she didn’t return to painting until 2006.
