CDABA issuses ‘Coastal Waters’ artist challenge
REEDSPORT— Coastal Douglas Arts
and Business Alliance (CDABA) is invit-
ing local community members from
Reedsport, Gardiner, Winchester Bay and
Scottsburg to submit work for their third
annual artist challenge.
The theme of this year challenge is
“Coastal Waters.”
All types of original craft and art pro-
duced from any and all mediums and
materials are welcome.
The piece must fit through a standard
door and be ready for display, including a
hanging device if appropriate.
Prizes to be awarded include a
Viewer’s Choice of $50; Mayor’s Choice
of $50; and $100 for the most original
piece that best depicts the theme and
includes good design and quality crafts-
manship, as determined by a guest judge.
Entry fee for the first piece is $10 and
$5 for each additional piece thereafter.
Entries are limited to three per artist.
All entries must have a label securely
attached in an inconspicuous location
that contains the title of the work, the
artist’s name, address and phone number.
Entries will be accepted at the
Mindpower Gallery, 451 Fir Ave., in
Reedsport, Ore., 97467, on Friday, June
10, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

June 17, in conjunction with the

The whole thing starts with the warm-
up party Thursday, March 10.
Doors open at 6 p.m. in the Salmon
Room of The Mill Casino, which will
feature the music of Evolution at 6:30
p.m., followed by Young Bucs at 7:45
p.m., then High Street at 9 p.m.

South Coast Clambake Jazz Festival has
something for you.
We’re pulling out all the stops for the
27th celebration and the South Coast
Clambake Jazz Festival has developed a
reputation as a Northwest favorite bring-
Chainsaw Carving Festival and
CDABA’s art walk. The opening recep-
tion that evening will be at the
Mindpower Gallery on Friday, June 17,
from 5 to 7 p.m.
The show will end Saturday, June 25.
Entries will be available for pick up on
either June 28 or 29, between 10 a.m. and
5 p.m.

from swing, doo-wop, blues, big band
and Zydeco starting Friday night at 5:30
p.m..
Then all day Saturday, March 12, and
Sunday, March 13, there will be a free
traditional Sunday morning non-denomi-
national Gospel service held in the
Salmon room of The Mill, starting at 10
a.m.. The service will feature the music
of High Street.
The event is once again expected to
draw dancers and music enthusiasts from
12 different states and more then 60
towns in Oregon, including Roseburg,
Eugene and Portland and beyond.
