12 A SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2016 Bring dancing shoes for KXCR’s ‘Big Band Night’ Band era and are sharing their extensive knowledge every Saturday night on KXCR, beginning at 7 p.m. on 90.7 FM. Craddock’s piano-play- ing career spanned the decades during and since those times, while Walker, back from the war, began building his vast music col- lection by buying up every record he could find of the best bands of that golden era. Behind the two DJs’ smooth patter is a deep love and appreciation of the music. “Let’s Go Dancing” gets them out of the KXCR stu- dio and gets Florence out on the floor. If it’s such good fun that everyone is still standing and smiling at 9 p.m., the night may continue on. Those who love Big Band and Swing music are invited to the Senior Center, 1570 Kingwood St. Admission is $5 per per- son and guests are invited to bring wine and beer. Whether dancing, listen- ing, watching or just enjoy- ing good company, dancing is a nice way to lend support to KXCR’s mission of bringing a broad array of outstanding radio programs to the central Oregon coast and its listeners, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For more information, contact Stuart Henderson at 541-997-2997. Visit www.kxcr.net to learn more about Florence’s nonprofit radio station.
