Viewfinders Club reveals New gallery lineup announced for Second December photog winners Saturday art tour Everyone invited to next tour set for Jan. 9 FLORENCE — In answer to the growing art interest in Florence, Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) presents the Second Saturday Gallery Tour, which seeks to share the benefits of the arts, artists and collabo- ration within the community by offering interactive opportunities to share and celebrate the local arts. FRAA hopes this monthly occasion will inspire residents and help Florence continue to be a thriving coastal art desti- nation. Between 3 and 5 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month, art lovers can enjoy appetizers, live entertainment and a collection of local art. The tour begins at any of the following locations, where participants can pick up a map of the galleries on the tour. The next event is Saturday, Jan. 9. It was partly in color, part- ly in black and white and partly in outline. Second place went to Betty Romero for her stunning picture of the interior of a church. Stephanie Ames took third with a black and white depiction of a doorway and stairs that was both beautiful and thought provoking. Next month’s meeting will be on Monday, Jan. 4, at 6 p.m. The theme is “Unusual Shapes.” Jazz Kings to present swing-era performance Jan. 30 FLORENCE — For the second install- ment of its swing-era classics, the Jazz Kings will examine the great songs of 1939 through 1942. Audiences will hear more music from Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and the Andrews Sisters, as well as great songs from Glenn Miller, Harry H AVE AN E VENT OR A NNOUNCEMENT ?
