Be present for ‘Back to the Future’ tonight City Lights Cinemas celebrates “Back to the Future” with a showing of the classic film on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m., with Sean Sisson and friends. In “Back to the Future Part II,” Doc Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd, sets the time circuits of his DeLorean to travel forward in time to Oct. 21, 2015. City Lights is celebrating the official “Back to the Future” day in historic fash- ion with costume contests, prizes, giveaways, a silent auction of time-based art to benefit Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops (CROW), and a mind bending audio/video DJ set from Sean Sisson, employing analog video glitch gear. It’s a combination block party and cinematic joyride. “We love being a part of the national experience,” says Susan Tive, co-owner of City Lights. “Sean’s energy and creative ideas are a perfect complement to the film.” Costumes are optional, but the best of 1950s, 1980s or futuristic (2015) clothing will be judged. The festivities continue after the film, which starts promptly at 7:30 p.m. Also featured will be a silent auction with 100 per- cent of the proceeds benefit- ing CROW, an organization dedicated to building charac- ter, providing safe and con- structive educational activi- ties and shaping responsible young adults by providing youth with professional cal- iber performing arts opportu- nities. The event is family friend- ly. The movie is rated PG and will begin at 7:30 p.m. The DJ set following the film may contain imagery not suitable for children.
