They can be made from many different materials and can vary from single piece displays to a whole entourage of shep- herds, wise men, cattle and the Holy Family. A preview of the upcoming Florence Nativity Festival will be on display at the Siuslaw Public Library from Oct. 1-30. A sampling of Nativity scenes will be dis- played in the display cases in the lobby area of the library. This display is a prelude of what can be seen at the 10th annual Nativity Festival, which will be held Dec. 4, 5 and 6, from 1 to 6 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2705 Munsel Lake Road. The event is free of charge and many individuals and groups will provide music during the three days of the festival. Anyone in the area wanting to display a nativity scene at the festival is invited to participate. All nativity sets, large or small, are welcome. Security is provided for the nativity scenes once they are set up at the church. More than 400 nativity scenes are expeted to be on display for all to enjoy.
