Keeton Sayre, 6, decided to raise funds for Siuslaw Outreach Services at the
Power of Florence by selling lemonade. The very warm day contributed to a $316
in donations for SOS. His cousin, Kaylee Graham, brought the money to SOS.

Siuslaw Public Library
seeks new board member
The Siuslaw Public Library
District has a vacancy on its
board of directors due to the
resignation of current board
member Dave Forsberg.
Forsberg shared in his resig-
nation letter that he “love(s)
the library more than ever,”
but that personal and profes-
sional obligations necessitated
the decision.
The remaining board mem-
bers and current library direc-
tor Meg Spencer all extend
their thanks to Forsberg for his
years of service to the library
district and the community.
The board will interview
applicants and appoint a
replacement for the unexpired
term of Forsberg at a regular
meeting on Wednesday, Aug.
19.
The person who is selected
by the board as a replacement
will be eligible to run for elec-
tion in May 2017 at the end of
Forsberg’s current term.
The library board is com-
posed of five residents of the
district who are elected to
four-year terms.
In addition to residing in the
Siuslaw
Public
Library
District, members must be
qualified electors.
