Most registered voters should
have received their ballots by
now.
Voters who do not receive
their ballot in the mail by
Tuesday, May 5, should do
one or more of the following:
Visit www.lanecounty.org/
elections to confirm the voter
is registered to vote.
If a voter has moved, even
to just the apartment next
door, the voter will need
to update his or her registra-
tion.
A voter can do this online
at www. lanecounty.org/elec
tions if he or she has a valid
DMV license, identification
card or permit number. The
link can also be used to
update or remove a mailing
address.
A voter can also complete a
registration card and mail or
deliver it to Lane County
Elections.
Ballots cannot be forward-
ed by law. Oregon’s vote-
by-mail system allows for
voters to request an absentee
ballot at a temporary loc-
ation if a voter is not going
to be at their permanent
address.

The wives of Florence
Police are inviting area resi-
dents to “Paint the Town Blue”
during National Police Week,
May 10 through 16, as a show
of support for local law
enforcement.
Residents are asked to dis-
play blue ribbons, bows and
lights during that week.
They can also thank a police
officer in person or send a card
to the station.
National Police Week began
in 1962, when President John
F. Kennedy designated May
15 as Peace Officers Memorial
Day. Since then, it has evolved
into an entire week to honor
those in law enforcement who
have given their life in the line
of duty.
Today, the event draws
upwards of 40,000 attendees
at the U.S. Capitol in
Washing-ton D.C.
