Feb. 20 Theft was reported at 7-11. Harassment was reported in the 1200 block of 10th Street. Feb. 21 Accident, with injury, was reported at 43rd and Oak Streets. Assault was reported in Florence. Trespass was reported in the 5600 block of Highway 126. Accident, without injury, was reported by the Oregon State Police at milepost 178 on Highway 101. Theft from vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of Ninth Street. Alarm was reported in the 10600 block of Highway 101. Burglary was reported in the block behind Papa Murphy’s Pizza. Theft was reported at the library. Fight was reported at Honeyman State Park. Feb. 22 Illegal camping, lodging was reported at Les Schwab. Theft of services was report- ed in the 1800 block of Highway 101. Illegal camping, lodging was reported in the 4900 block of Highway 101. Death investigation was conducted in the first block of Shoreline Drive. DEHNE—In the afternoon of Sept. 29, 2014, Lt. Colonel W i l b e r “Wild Bill” D e h n e soloed into the wild blue yonder for the final time. Father, uncle, cousin Wilber Dehne and mentor passed away at the age of 96, after surviving the Great Depression, WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam conflict. Family and friends will be joining in a celebration of life for Wilber on March 28, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., at the Walterville Community Center. Stories and mementos of his life will be shared, as well as his favorite elk chili. Donations in his name can be made to the Oregon State University School of Forestry or any veterans’ organization. Contact for the celebration is Jeff Dehne in Springfield. Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. F O R A K E R — Wi l l i a m “Bill” Foraker, 93, of Florence, p a s s e d away Feb. 14, 2015, and joined the love of his life, Frances Foraker. Bill was not only a William war veteran Foraker and sur- vivor of WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, he was also a fighter in life. He survived several surgeries and cancer in his later years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Florence, National P38 Association, and various local clubs and charity organizations. The family was fortunate enough to enjoy years of sto- ries, advice and experience of his life adventures. He is survived by his son, Jay Foraker; grandchildren Michael Foraker and his wife, Jennifer, and Chrystall Wiggins; and great-grandchil- dren: Cadence, Brayden and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Foraker. Grandfather will always be in our hearts and his legacy will continue through his grandchildren.
