DOLLINGER—Hunter Jo- Franklin Dollinger, nicknamed “Bug” or “Bubba,” 17, of Florence, passed away Feb. 12, 2015. He was born Sept. 18, 1997, in Florence. Hunter was a very sweet and loving young man. Despite Hunter’s many severe disabilities he was a Downtown Revitalization Team earns approval for banners Siuslaw News After months of work, the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Revitalization Team (DRT) presented the Florence City Council its proposal to add banners along main thorough- fares into the city. These ban- ners would add curb appeal to make key locations more attractive to passing motorists. Councilors Joshua Greene and George Lyddon moved and seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. Kelli Weese, city recorder, said, “The proposed banner design is of this wonderful heron on a seaside backdrop.” One of three phrases will be included in the design of the banners: “Come See What We See,” “Historic Old Town” and “Mainstreet District.” The banners will be 20 inch- es wide, 96 inches tall and hang 10 feet above the side- walks. They will be made of durable canvas, as researched by the DRT. “This is specification that I’ve used previously … this is the exact same specification I ordered back in 2005, and they are still in use and doing quite well. The canvas in still in use and doing quite well. The can- vas lasts much longer than any other type. They are used on both coasts and in many differ- ent cities,” said DRT member David Wiegan. “You’ve done a great job. It’s a great project and it brings that curb appeal to us, which is important,” Greene said to the DRT. When the project begins in the spring or summer of this year, the banners will be placed in strategic places. Weese said, “These are pro- posed to be on the very tall poles along the highway, which have streetlights. … They are going to be very high, which is important because they’re trying to get (the attention of) drivers, as opposed to pedestrians.” The 21 banners will range along Highway 126, from Quince Street to the intersec- tion of Highway 101, and along Highway 101, from the intersection with Highway 26 to the southern end of the Siuslaw River Bridge. There also will be banners in the gateways to Old Town. Wiegan said, “We would like to think this is just the beginning of a number of different aspects to deal with aesthetics, along Highway 101 in particular. We have a num- ber of other things in mind for the future. We have to get started.” Mayor Joe Henry respond- ed, “This is a good step for- ward.” Western Lane Ambulance District Ambulance Runs Feb. 9-15 Date Time 2/9/15 2/9/15 2/9/15 2/9/15 2/9/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/10/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/11/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/12/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/13/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/14/15 2/15/15 2/15/15 2/15/15 2/15/15 2/15/15 2/15/15 0840 1229 1636 2027 2155 0255 0504 0715 0900 0955 1041 1853 2104 0005 1148 1228 1343 1447 1459 1618 1928 0318 0528 0812 1127 1450 1525 1542 1610 2152 0107 0546 0730 1053 1555 1626 2141 0000 0016 0222 1046 1146 1421 1937 0318 1445 1634 1641 1727 1936 Area Alder Drive Munsel Creek Loop Oak Street 9th Street Highway 101 N Upas Place Highway 126 Levage Drive Transfer to Eugene Transfer to Eugene South Shore Drive Transfer to Airport Munsel Creek Loop Transfer to Eugene Highway 126 Park Village Drive Highway 101 South Jetty Beach ATV Access Laurel Street First Street Spruce Street Mercer Lake Road Spruce Street Terrace View Drive Rhododendron Drive 9th Street Boy Scout Road Rhododendron Drive 9th Street Rhododendron Drive Highway 36 Spruce Street Transfer to Eugene E Mapleton Road Highway 101 Harbor Street Levage Drive Transfer to OHSU Sherwood Loop Spruce Street Spruce Street Munsel Lake Road Bay Street Highway 126 Highway 126 Highway 126 Armstrong Way Glenada Road Cloudcroft Lane Winsome Circle School gymnasium on Feb. 28.
