6 B SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2015 OMB boater registration now web-based New system will streamline registrations The Oregon Marine Board has made the transition to a web-based titling and regis- tration system that has more functionality, more security and brings more online options for boaters. The new registration sys- tem combines the old main- frame data with boater educa- tion, AIS permits and the Outfitter/Guide/Charter data- bases into one, integrated system. The customer interface “RegLine” allows boaters to log in and manage their con- tact information, as well as apply for boat title and regis- tration and renew or order replacement documents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new system allows boaters to order replacement boater education cards, pur- chase AIS permits for paddle- craft, and coming next year, outfitters, guides and charters will be able to apply online. For quick turn-around on boat registration renewals, boaters are encouraged to renew online. Online boat registration renewals are immediately processed when payment is approved and printed the same or next day for mailing. Boaters should be aware that the new online interface has additional safety meas- ures built in that can be con- fusing, so it is important to read and follow the directions closely. The Marine Board, work- ing with marine law enforce- ment, will honor any tempo- rary permits that expired until the agency is caught up.
