Q What is a reline?
A reline is putting a new surface
inside your denture when your
gums have shrunk and there is
a space between your denture
and the gum surface. Never
wear your dentures in this
condition as your gums may
“puff” into the ill-fitting
denture. Have your dentures
relined every other year.

Cooking class features
heart-healthy soups
The organizers of the annu-
al Community Health Fair
held each April at the Florence
Events Center are offering
another in the series of free
follow-up cooking classes to
the community.
On Thursday, Feb. 5, local
healthful cooking enthusiasts
will teach tips and tricks for
quick, tasty, hearty and health-
ful soups.
“The interest in a healthful,
plant-based diet is growing, so
we will be sharing some of our
favorite soups for these chilly
winter months,” said organizer
Linda Lydick.
“We’ll demonstrate easy-to-
prepare, no-cholesterol, deli-
cious soups — you’ll get sam-
ples and we will give you the
recipes,” said Lydick.
Lydick added that these
soups are sure to become fam-
ily favorites and popular addi-
tions to church, office or
neighborhood potlucks.
“Bring the family or
friends,” Lydick said.
The event is from 6 to 8
p.m. at the Florence Seventh-
day Adventist Church, 4445
Highway 101.
For more information, or to
preregister with a friend or
small group, call Linda Lydick
at 541-999-2052.

Meet C HAKRA
Mind, Body and Spirit...To be balanced
all must be aligned. Harmony can be
ours. Adopt me...CHAKRA! ... and now
that I’ve lured you in with that fancy
introduction, let me tell you about myself!
My name is Chakra. I live here at the
shelter, but I didn’t always. I was rescued
from a bad situation and I was eventually
brought here! When I fi rst came in I was
an expectant mother. After a few weeks
I gave birth to my kittens here. I was a
good mommy but now my little ones are
all old enough to fi nd their own future
forever families... which means I’m ready
to fi nd mine too! I hope to fi nd the warm
and loving home that I know I deserve,
maybe that home will be yours!

friends, please visit us at:
