The state championship softball
tournament is all over but the
shouting, but the shouting can still
be heard as far as the Four Build
ers team of Camp Adair is con
cerned.
Although the club was nosed out
in the finals by a one to nothing
score at the hands of the Butler
and Son aggregation from Portland,
no less than five of the camp speed
sters were named on all-state selec
tions. Harvey Griffen, camp hurler,
was voted the outstanding pitcher
of the tournament.
Those named all-state in addi
tion to Griffen, were Warren Perry
man, catcher; George Crowne,
third base; Dick Landis, utility in
fielder, and Patrick Kennedy, util
ity outfielder. Griffen, in pitching
31 inn^gs, allowed just three hits,
one earned run and struck out 72.
