The state championship softball
tournament is all over but the
shouting, but the shouting can still
be heard as far as the Four Build­
ers team of Camp Adair is con­
cerned.
Although the club was nosed out
in the finals by a one to nothing
score at the hands of the Butler
and Son aggregation from Portland,
no less than five of the camp speed­
sters were named on all-state selec­
tions. Harvey Griffen, camp hurler,
was voted the outstanding pitcher
of the tournament.
Those named all-state in addi­
tion to Griffen, were Warren Perry­
man, catcher; George Crowne,
third base; Dick Landis, utility in­
fielder, and Patrick Kennedy, util­
ity outfielder. Griffen, in pitching
31 inn^gs, allowed just three hits,
one earned run and struck out 72.
