The shades of night were falling fast
As throuirh. tho eanvon citv
The train which Bel linger direct
Who smiles so swei tlv on tho sex,
'Tis well. "sir.
High in his chair of lordly state,
The unctions Biles complaisant sate :
Nor heeded he the brakesman's shout,
Falls city folks had best get out.
As well, sure.
But Biles tho tale is telling now.
How Church when bashful made his bow,
To ladies fair in early days.
At Cant. Smallwood's great amaze,
To tell. sir.
Thus passed the train into the night,
l'ar from the city's welcome light.
And when it reached Canetnah town,
Biles had the story all done brown,
Kxcelsior.
Then panic seizes on "one Biles."
He frownoth now who often smiles,
And totteringlimbs like reed stalksquake,
So do the stalwart often shake,
Don't tell. sir.
Then Capt. Small wood swore great guns
If ever any "Mother's Sons,"
Or any tale from sons of men.
Should ever by dog-goned again
So sell. sir.
And Biles now trudgiiur in the muck,
Which oft doth threat his boots to shuck.
In muttering phrase. ' It might bo worse.
Save earlv training 1 'might curse,
" 'Tis h 1, sir."
Of all the men of great renown.
(I run the range of each pronoun;,
None hath such captivating wiles.
To smother time and rub out miles,
Job's Comforters could not our Biles
