DISCIPLINE.
What means the order, cheerfulness
nnJ happiness we behold in this school?
It means that law, government, disci-
niino are here. Are the pupils con
tented anl happv? Perfectly so. Why?
I'mvliisi! the pupils are so eiicour itred
to self-control and self-help that occa
sions for discipline seldom arise. There
has been verv little corporal punish-
in. nt this vear. Not more than half a
ilo.eii cases, and the teachers have rea
son to hone that there will be still less
in the future.
AIMS AND VIEWS.
Well, the aim of this school is thor
oughness. There is such a crying want
of this thoroughness at the present
!:iv. It is pitiful to no into many
schools and see how little the pupils
know of the pages that lie before their
eves, as unintelligible as it they were
written in Hindoo; how superficial
thevare; how thev catch terms and
names anil the base language of rules,
but comprehend not their meanin'r:
how. if you take them from the letter,
von find th:t thev have no knowledge
of its spirit or substance. P.ut this
school does nut adopt the popular
dip-trap about studying for mental
discipline and about the unimportanc
of mere facts. If an education does

JuSoltoway's Pill and Ointment
The onward inarch of truth. Why is it ?
the great doctrine announced some fifty
years back by Dr. Holloway, that the
stomach, the liver and blood are the
founts of disease, is now universally ad
mitted, his greatest opponents having be
come his staunciiest supiorters. The rea
son is obvious : millions who were atnicted
with Dyspepsia, Iiver Complaints, Bilious
ness, Sick Headache, Debility and Physi
cal prostration, have leen radically cured
bv ft thorough course of ins famous 1'ilis,
while others have been healed of scurvy,
old sores, bad legs, scrofulous humors,
gland-ilar swellings, tumors, asthma.
bronchit is, &c, by his Ointment and Fills,
when all other means hail failed. Such is
the progress of truth and the tiiumph of
reason.
