A Gazette representative eniov e.d a very pleasant trip in the Blue mountains at the home of Mr and Mrs VVillard Ilerren. Mountain "" trees and shrubbery are now dressed in their most fashionable clothes, and the many beautiful colors are arranged in pleasing contrast. Eastern Oregon's fall weather is the fineat, and at this time of year the higher altitudes add a delicate flavor. Fire- GOOD SHOWING The handsome residence of Alex Cornett was destroyed by fire last Sunday night. The fire started after Mr and Mrs Cornett had gone to bed and the origin of the fire is a mystery. The blaze Btarted in a store room off from the kitchen. There was no stove in this room. The fire had gained eood head way and was breaking through the roof when discovered at about 10 o'clock.
