Second St., Al lanr, Oregon, LONG SESSION COUNTY COURT Much Business Disposed of by Commissioners. The County Court met in regu ltr session at the court house, Wed nesday of last weejk. Being the first BeBsion of the year in which the diffeient appoint ments are made, together with the closing of the business of the old year, the session wbb a long one, in which a large amount of business was disposed of. Judge Patterson presided with the full board of commissioners, The first day's business was tak en up principally in auditing claims asrainst the countv. In all 256 claims were presented, and the to tal amount paid out waB $5,081.93, Of this amount $3920.47 came from the general fund and $1161.40 came from the road fund. A. Ives, of Irrigon, was appoint ed fruit inspector for Morrow coun ty- J. W. Brown waa appointed county road viewer tor tne year 1909. The jury list consisting of 240 namps was drawn from the tax roll. In the matter of the petition of Luther Huston et al for the estab lishment of a county road. Grant ed. County Surveyor Reid, View ers J. W. Brown and llenry Gay were appointed to meet on Febru ay 20, at the starting point of the road, and survey the proposed road. In the matter of the purchase of a tract of land for the use of an experimental station to be donated to the State of Orpgon. It was ordered a3 an inducement for the sstablishment of an experi ment station m Morrow county, an appropriation of 83COO, provided the station is established by the state. She petition of W. S. Smith et al praying for a change in the grade on lone hill, received favor able consideration. The surveyor and viewers were ordered to meet on Friday, February 12, to lay out the proposed change.
