tors in Heppner Monday.
Ed. Moore, the lone furniture
man, is in the city, at the bedside
of his wife who underwent a se
vere operation at the hospital yes
terday.
Revival meetings are ' now in
progress at the Baptist cnurcn,
under the direction of Rev. T. J.
Anthony. Considerable interest
is being taken.
Ed McDaid, one of the progress
ive ranchers or the btrawberry
country, was in the city the first of
the week looking after the paying
of his taxes.

represented besides the three other
orders of which he was a member,
and the floral offerings of these or
ders were grand. The city of lone

well as numerous personal contri
butions.
The services were held in the
yard of 8. I. 8tratton and were of
ficiated over by Rev. Orr, of the
M. E. church, South, of Heppner.
There were nearly one thousand
people in attendance and the con
dition of the weather was such as
to favor an open air service. The
remains were laid to rest in the
cemetery on the hill above lone at
about 2:30 under the auspices of
the Odd Fellows, of which order
he had been a member ever since
he was twenty one years of age.
Joseph A. Woolery was married
to Miss Helen Violette Wilson, of
Monument, Grant county, Oregon,
on December 24, 1888. The reimlt
of such uuion'has been four girls,
Audrey, Edna, Velmaletta. and
Joie.
Mr. Woolery carried fifty two
thousand dollars of life insurance
n favor of his wife and family and
in conjunction with his vast hold
ings makes one of the largest es
tates vet to be administered in
Morrow couutv.
