The property in South Heppner was bought by James Gentry and the Lone Rock ranch was pur chased by R. D. Robinson. Mrs. Luper requests the presence of tbe ladies of Heppner and vicinity at her Milline y opening, Saturday, March 16. Geo. II. Goebel, the traveling socialist speaker, addressed a large audience at Roberts' opera house yesterday evening. Mr. Goebel's address was pleasing. He is a bright and able speaker and made some good poiuts for his cause, Persuasion by force of argument ratber tban ridicule, which always appeals to the liberal minded, was in evidence throughout his entire speech. Mr. Hansen was greeted with a good sized and very appreciative au dience. Leing entirely alone, the young artist certainly proved him self to be master of the situation. After the first delicate touch by the hand of the soloist on the king of iustrumente, the audience was with him. Interspersed with classical solos, were old time pop ular airs. Mr. Hansen's execution is exceptionally good. The feel ing expressed au well as the purity aDd bonuty of tone produced all go to 6bow the results of of years of careful training, coupled with nbtural talent. A crowded house would certainly be his reward should he return to Heppner. Mr. Hansen was entertained Sunday evenioe at the home of Dr. and Airs. Metzler where the violin fur nished a rare treat for all present.
