When the nerves are weak everything goes wrong. You are tired all the time, easily discouraged, nervous, and irritable. Your cheeks are Sarsaparilla pale and your blood is thin. Your doctor says you are threatened with a nervous breakdown. He orders this grand old family medicine. Woolery Says H hcat I'nrin are too l.nrjrc. "Morrow county has more to r-fler to the man wi'h limited capital than any other county in the state," said J. A Woo'ery yesterday morning. Mr. Woolery is perhaps the largest land owner and taxpayer r f Moirow county, having wheat and range lands amount ing to 22,000 acres. This year he is farming six sections ot wheat land all sown 1 1 f ill wheat. "Winier wher.t was quite badly dam aged in Morrow county this year," con tinued Mr. olery. "Farmers did not report to resowmg extensively, how ever, as thev were willing to take I he chances on a good half crop rather than tn rlin Ht rlnl. r.t , . n,. "'. r-iv ui a pjiiing crop. ilie wheat that was not frozen is in a nios' heal-hy condition and with snflicient rain within the next few weeks it will stool out ea'ily and I believe wi 1 make three-fourths of a crop. ' I repeat that Morrow county lias much to offer to the person who has a small amount of capital for investment. In many parts of the county land is selling at $10 an ace. which in five years will be easily worth $30 an acre We have the sure character of land down there aa you have here in Uma tilla county. It has been considered al most worthless in the past, except for grazing purposes, but people who know something about the soil of Oregon realize that they can raise wheat crops there as well as any place else in East ern Oregon. Many people are coming to Morrow county and a number are in vesting in land. We are glad to see it. We only have 5,000 people in the coun ty. We could fccomm date 500,000 just as well. "As it is now the farmers of Oregon t ! . - m are larming on too large a scale. The farms should be cut up and give loom e -.. ior more la-mera. J Hat way we would have better cultivation atd more n en could be given a chance to earn a liviDg. The trouble with Oregon is that it hasn't the population. We want more people, the kind that will work, invest and build up our communities We don't want the kind that strive! for large bank accounts and then sit back and count their coin between interval of sleep." Pendleton Tribune. wh-n Toitland, inster.d of Milwaukee or St. Louis w 1 be the brewery center of the country. A similar prediction is rapidly coming tiue with regaid to cot ton goods, so long manufactured exclu sively fn New England, but now being made in immense mills in the south where the cotton is raised. There are only four fctates in which hops are a commercial product of any importance Oregon, Washington, Cali fornia and New York. The state o O egon last year produced about 85,000 bales, California, 60,000 bales, Washing ton, 40,000 bales, and New York's crop was considerably less than that of Ore gon While no hops are raised for the mar ket in the middle west, nearly all the big breweries are located there. They were located in the Mississippi basin b-cause that was a center for distribu tion from the Atlantic to the Pacific This time has come to consider removal of this center to the Pacific coast and measure the center of distribution in connection with oriental trade. The Pacific coast will ultimately supply a vast beer trade in that quarter of the globe. Eastern brewers nm fnmDOO; this and are looking to the king of hop Bfa'es as the proper place for great brewery undertakings. The recent deal by which Cleveland and Chicago capitalists took over a heavy interest in the Star brewery is an indication ft this fond people have plans that will eventually develop in Portland a brewery plant e.piai to ine greatest in the world. The new company, known as the Northern Brewing company, lias been acquiring considerable property in Oregan art Washington in the last year, and now owns valuab'e real estate in Portland, Vancouver. 0,egon City and othrr places in Oregon and Washington. It has selected towns in which it looks for rapid commercial development and in creased population, with a view to de velopirrj a lartre wholesale and retail beer trade. The new company has un limited capital and is backed by a svn- dicare that recently consolidated a number of large breweries in Ohio. Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas and other states passing laws which virtual ly drives the corporation without their state confines, the refusal of the great body of the Congregational church to condone the acceptance of the $100,000 gift tendered by Rockefeller, and the promised investigation by the govern ment into its methods of doing busi ness, now comes Chicago and files a suit for $40,000,000 against the company asking judgment for the amount With costs.
