Oregon Fruits win sell, Secretary George Lamberson, of the Horticultural Board, has received a letter from Kansas City, written by a large dealer in fruit, that a severe freeze allthroaeh the southern part of the Central West, April 29 and 30, damaged the Eastern fruit prospects about 50 per cent. B. M. Tanner is the man who gives the information. He says that re ports are coming in that indicate that only 40 to 50 per cent of the fruit crop will mature. Within 15 days more he can tell what is left ot the crop. Mr. Tanner is coming to Oregon to in spect the fruit prospects in this Icountry in July. He says : "I am connected with large Eastern jobbing houses and should Oregon have a crop of a good quality of fruit I will, no doabt, operate quite largely out that way this season." Mr. Tanner wishes to be informed of the conditions in Oregon, especially in reaard to apples, and Mr. Lamberson believes from this and other inquiries ihat have come to him, that this will be a season of good demand for Oregon fruits of all kinds. A Prophetstown, 111., man has written asking for information as to the fruit in dustry and the chances for disposing of the product this distance from market. Mr. Lamberson has supplied all the in formation within his power to give, and will encourage the growth of the fruit business as much as possible. Portland Telegram.
