The Leader certainly deserves much credit for getting out such an edition. It shows re markable sDterprise. It is devoted to the interests of Wasco, Sherman and Crook counties in able and comprehensive articles. Grabill will erect a fine dwelling in lone this summer. Mrs. W. J. Blake and Mrs. John Blake and children are visiting in Idaho. Miss Lee Woolery and Mrs. Brierly are sojourning in Portland this week. A new dwelling is being erected for Frank Akers, a two story mod ern cottage. Sidewalks for several blocks on both sides of Second street will be laid right away. A large building will be erecte-d shortly by the Baptists for the purpose of church services. Billy Reed has purchased the old Frank Akers house and will improve it by putting on rustic and paint. Two large rooms will be added to the school hou-ie as soon after school closes as is possible to get the work done. Crop prospects were reported never better than at present by parties, coming to lone from all parts of Morrow county last week. New dwellings are in evidence in all parts of town. Billy Cor son is erecting a neat two story cottage on. Second street near Cherry. Horse thieves visited the vicin ity of lone recently and helped themselves to horses belonging to Mrs. Josephine Currin and Rube Sperry. and also took a watch and! a suit of clothing from the Currin residence. Trace of the thieves has been secured and constables are now in pursuit of them. J. A. Tonight the "salters" at the Pendleton Scouring Mill will be laid off and ihe scouring mill will close down in about 10 days. This is because the wool clip has run out and there will be nothing to do in the line of scouring until the spring clip begins to come in, hich will be in April says Sat-! urdaj's East Oregonian. The mill ' bat bad a longer and most success ful ruu since it started up about; the first of February last year, than ever before in its hi.-tory. It has been running steadily with a day and a night shift, for more than a year, and to count 10 hours a day's work, the mill has put in IS months running in that time, handling a total of 4.5n0.0O' pounds of wool.
