The eecond annual reunion of the pioneers ami old folks of Mor row count-, held in this city on Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12, was certainly a giand suc cess. All arrangements were carried out nicely and the old folks and pioneers were well entertained. It wa-i a pleasant 6ight to eee dinner was awaiting the old folki the old folks and pioneers eDjoy- j and pioneers. Long tables were ing themselves The procebsion, headed by the arranged, with a seating capacity of over 200. There were plenty of Heppner Symphony band in a accommodating waiters, and 320 wagon beautifully decorated with the stars and stripes, drawn by six fine horses gayly decorated with plume?, driven by M. C. Fuqua, formed at the comer of Baltimore and Main streets, when an army of school children got into line. AFTERNOON EXERCISES. The opera house in the after noon was crowded. There was not standing room for the large number of people. The exercises opened with music by the band, followed by invoca tion by Rer. Miller, of Lexington. Attorney Q. "W. Phelpe delivered the address of welcome. Hia re marks were well received, and he tention. After vocal music, . there was a response to the address of welcome by a Morrow county pioneer, Rev Swift, of Euht Mile. Bev. Swift explained that the old folks and pioneers thoroughly appreciated the kind and courteous treatment received from Heppner people. The speaker closed his short ad dress amid a storm of applause. A recitation by Mise Lillian Bisbee was an interesting feature. Her elocutionary ability was ap preciated by the large audience. Her pantomime work was well rendered. The main feature of the reunion was the address by Hon. S. A. certainly did make the old folks LoWelL Judw Lowell, who has and pioneers feel welcome and at j tfce well-earned reputation of be home.
