Gazette should bave been just two hours
in : printing both aides of its "porous

rendered the machinery worse than use
less for quite a period, and tbe whole
afternoon was absorbed in a not over

Thomas LaForge returned to Heppner
Saturday from atrip up through Mon
tana, and on through tbe East as far as
Washington City. Mr. LaForge says
that there ia capital in the East for
mining purposes, bat investments for
any other purpose are slow at present.
