When pnly 17 years old he was converted to Christ and the New Testament Christianity. At once he began preaching among his own people and continued for five years with marked success. The Lutheran Church gave to Brother Olson his early religious training. His father was a faithful and successful Lutheran preacher. He was the first of his family to step out o f all humanism and identify himself with the ‘ ‘Great Restoration Movement.” While he has proved himself a man o f unusual worth and power among the Scandinavians he*is equally effect ive among the English-speaking people The Eugene Bible University con ferred upon Brother Olson the degrees A. B., B. D. and B. 0 ., for required work done in this school and the state University of Oregon. Especially gifted by nature for Evangelistic work, he has given care ful attention to methods and details; nothing having been neglected that could contribute to his strength and success. Though constantly in the university since beginning his ministry among the English-speaking people, his suc cess has been phenomenal. During his school life in Eugene, Oregon, he preached 1135 sermons, received 1312 members into the church and conduct ed eighteen revivals, averaging fifty additions to the meeting. He conducted three revivals in one place in a single year, resulting in 106 conversions, the last o f the three be ing the most successful. «>{ D a I Mr. and Mrs H. Whosoever is ashamed o f me and my words o f him shall the son o f man be ashamed. Luke 8:26. 2. Is it because you are waiting for a special call? “ He calleth you by my Gospel. ” II Thes., 2:14. 3. Is it because o f the inconsisten cy of some church member? “ Every one o f us must give an account of himself to God.’ ’ —Romans 14:12. 4. Is it because you think you are good enough without Christ?. “ Ex cept a man be born o f the water and the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom o f heaven.” John 3:5. 5. Is it because you fear that you are too great a sinner? "The blood o f Jesus Christ, His son cleanses us from all sins.” — I John, 1:7. 6. Is it because you fear that you cannot hold out faithful? “ God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able.” —I Cor. 10:13. 7. Is it that you wish to continue in sin? “ The wages o f sin is death.” — Romans 6:23. Dear Reader: Make no no more ex cuses: hear Christ, believe Christ, confess Christ, repent toward Christ, be baptised into Christ and live for Him—faithful unto death and you will be saved. All excuses will fail in judgment. Do what you know is right. Do it to day. Tomorrow may never come. It is wise to be safe; it is safe to be in Christ.” Romans8:11. Enter today. I f you hear Christ, believe Christ, repent toward Christ, confess Christ, and be baptised into Christ, and live as He teaches in the bible, you will be made better and happier for this life and run no risks as to the future. I f you do not, you will take all chances o f being lost and have noth ing to gain here or hereafter. Be wise. Matt. 7:24-27. Not foolish. TAKE THE SAFE WAY. Do it to. day. Say I will. Wear no name but Christ, Have no priest but Christ. Accept no creed but Christ’s. Submit to no authority but Christ’s. Ask you to believe on Christ. Ask you to repent toward Christ. Ask you to confess Christ. Ask you to be baptised into Christ. Ask you to walk with Christ. Ask you to live for Christ. Plead for unity in Christ. Christ is our all in all. Christ, our only creed, the Bible our only rule of faith and practice. We are one in faith and practice, charity in opinion. Compares Christian Preacher With Rapid Fire Gin and Automobile With Extra Tires. "H ave you heard David E. Olson, the evangelist?” a prominent lawyer was asked. “ I have,” he answered, “ and in some particulars he excels any man I ever listened to. James Hamilton Lewis, former congressman from Se attle, was accredited with being one of the most rapid speakers whoever ap peared in congress, but Olson will say three words to one o f Lewis; in fact, Lewis is like a gentle shower compar ed to a cloudburst. I know of noth ing to compare him with when it comes to rapid talking and scripture quota tions except to say that he appears to be a six-cylinder, high-power armor ed gospel motor car, mounted with four o f the latest improved rapid fire guns with an inexhaustible store of ammunition, with extra tirei strapped on behind. When he charges at the enemy he strikes a pace o f more than a mile a minute and rakes everything fore and aft on both sides with the fastest shooting ever known in a gos pel campaign work, and as he sweeps by, you instinctively hide, and when beyond you he halts for one moment, you emerge from your hiding place believing he has exhausted his am munition. In a flash he about faces and trains all four guns on you, every one shooting faster than ever, and be fore he gets near you you either run for your life, surrender or cry for the rocks and mountains to fall on you to hide you from the wrath to come. “ The book of Revelation tells o f a time when the cavalry o f hell—two hundred millions strong—the horses having heads like lions, and out of their mouths issue fire and smoke and brimstone, by which the third part of men are to be killed, will raid this world. “ But that army certainly will not attempt an invasion o f Hoquiam while Olson is here. Jesus routed ti e devil with three scriptural quotations, and Mr. Olson seems to be so full o f the bible that quotations leap from his tongue, flash from his eyes and seem to spring from the tips o f his fingers and from every hair o f his head, and should that army appear and encoun ter a man so thoroughly equipped with bible quotations as Mr. Olson is, the whole bunch would break and run as soon as he would open fire on them, and never stop to hazard a battle with a man like Olson. “ Mr. Olson is a young man, but he is certainly a wonderful man. Every body should hear him .” Out o f Christ means lost. In Christ means saved. To be in Christ we must first come “ into” Christ. The inspired word o f God, the only infalli ble guide, tells how to come into Christ. The steps that lead in Christ are: 1. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ John 20:30-31; John 3:16; Heb. 11:5. 2. Repent, that is turn away from sin Luke 24:47; Luke 13:3, 11; Acts 17;30. 3. Confess Christ before men Matt. 10:32; I Tim. 5:12-13; Rom. 10: 9-10. 4. Be baptised into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Matt 28 18-20; Acts 2 38-39; Rom. 6 3-5. If you have taken these steps sin cerely you are in Christ. Now to abide in Christ we must live daily in obedience to his word. See II Pet. 1: 2-11; I Thess. 516-22; I John 4 11-21; Rom. 8:35-39.
