Frank, of Kings Valley,ami four daugh­
ters, Mrs. Fe lix Dudley, of Wells, Mrs.
John Banks and Mrs. Maurice Allen, of
Kilims Valiev, Mrs Dan Ross of AI sea,
one sister Mrs. H ester H erren, of Mon­
m outh, and one brother, J. L. Rogers,
of Kin^s Valley, and a host of friends
to m ourn her loss. She was a pood
kind m other, loving wife, ami Affection­
ate sister ami will be greatly missed in
her family. Tin* funeral was held a t toe
Kings Valley grave yard, July 30th at

Cal Kram er, Falls C ity ’s rustling tim ­

two m onths trip through Southern Or­
egon and California. He is glad to get
home again and to a country ami d im

A. G. Long, of P ortland, was a Falls
City visitor for a few days last week.
Mr. Long is proprietor of one of the
oldest business houses in Portlaud, and
in Ids visit here was greatly surprise»l
to fiml such a flourishing and progres­
sive little city.
The doctors are com plaining of the
extrem e healthiness of the tim es. They
are goo»i fellows to have urouml, hut

Polk county get sick or die, until they
get good ami ready. T here is consider­
able doubt as to there being any bet­
ter place to live.
W. B. Chance, deputy labor commis­
sioner, w as a Falls City visitor last week.
Mr. Chance is a bright young man and
takes notice of conditions whenever he
goes. His d istrict is the western half of
the state, and in his travels he says lie
finds greater im provem ent in Polk
county than elsewhere, particularly in
the line of horticulture.

liquor interests, will not stand on that

ular press, is weakening everyday.
