KEYT, PERRYDALE, OREGON A bard in Portland. Under strangely mystifying and pe- c diar c rcumstances Frank Hubbard, of Dallas, Cro., died at the Good Sarnari- 1 tan hospital Friday morning, and four physicians and the coroner are baffled. ' The body was shipped to his home after a p«»«t mortem examination that failed to clear up the affair. For just 24 hours he was sick, Then from a strong and hearty man, rational and full of life and spirit, he sank quickly to hisdeath. He complained of severe pains in his alslomen and j hack, but to Dr. Theodore Gessler, who 1 attended him lie said he knew of noth ing that might have injured him. But. strangest of all, on the man’s abdomen, extending down the left side and hip and up the hack the skin lay torn and shredded. It was not man gled, nor did it appear as though due to a bruise or scald, hut the cuticle |*>»*led off at t! e ch of a tinge # The lefn wrist was also blistered and puffed, and as death drew closer Hubbard com plained of increasing pain. Dr. Fussier could make make nothing of it. and called in three other physicians. They, ton. were mystified. Yet to them Hub bard declared that he coulden’t reniem- U*r nor imagine anything that might have caused his remarkable condition Hubbard was a timber cruiser. Three j days ago he came *0 Portland fr im his j lrnme in Dallas and registered at the 1 Belvedere hotel. That evening lie told the clerk that he felt a trifle sick. As 4 , the night wore on he became worse. ? | and finally an ambulance was summoned <» to take him to the hospital. Twelve j hours later lie was dead. Frank was laid to rest Saturday morn ing in the Liiekiamute cemetery, the services being conducted hy Rev Davis. Mr. Hubbard was horn near Dallas in 188(1, and has made his home here with his aged mother all his life. Probably no man knew our mountains le tte r than he, and he always had profitable em ployment as a tint tier cruiser. Frank Hubbard was a man of many good qual ities, and he leaves many friends all ov er Oregon to lament his sudden death. Probably a more generous hearted man never lived, and his time and money were always freely given to those whom he admitted to his friendship. He leave many relatives to mourn his de- pa 1 ture.
