Don't plant corn that will not grow. Don't plow tho land when wet or sticky. Bo sure and test your corn before plant ing. Don't breed a draft mare to a trotter or a thoroughbred. Mix the dry horse manure with the wet cow manure. There is no sweet corn for late planting that excels Stowell's evergreen. Don't breed to a misshapen, ungainly horse, oven if ho has a long pedigree. Watch tho young owo's for frequently they will not allow the lambs to suck. Don't breed to a horse that is accident ally good looking in spite of bad ancestry. Young chicks maybe nut upon a crack ed wheat diet after about three weeks of age. Some farmers may not, of course, bo in a position to keep bees to advantage this must be a matter of individual judg ment. It will be readily understood that, to be a money-making former, ono must be able to manage men profitably ; he must also understand to a great extent the mar kets of the world. A little soda as welL as salt is recom mended to boll with cabbage, and effects the flavor agreeably. For one head of cabbage take a pinch of soda equal in bulk to a good sized pea. A delicious pudding is made in this way : Chop a pine apple quite fine ; take some cako which iB a little dry. rub it fino in your hands or crush it on a knead ing hoard: put it into a pudding dish tn altornato layers with tho pineapple, sweeten abundantly, moisten with cold water and bake in a moderate oven for an hour and three-quarters. If two hard, add moro oil. This is a good thing for all chaps, whether hands, feet or lips, and is neither disagreeablo nor unpleasant if applied to tho lips. Very rich fritters aro made of ono and one-half pints of Hour, tho yolks of four eggs, two small teaspoonfiila of baking powder, butter tho size of a largo hickory nut, salt to tasto, "with enough milk to mako a thick batter, fry in lard that is heated to tho boiling point. A rule for plamor ones may bo wished for also. J wo eggs, ono cut) of sweetmilk, a little, salt flour onougli to mako a stiff batter. These aro nico with maple syrup. They find everv vestig of green food that appears, and y keeping down tho weeds early tho field can in timo bo entirely cleared of the pests. To make a loaf of light corn bread for breakfast, beat up two fresh eggs, add a cup of milk, half sour and half sweet, a lump of soft, fresh butter, a little salt and a little salaratus. Beat in enough corn meal to mako a moderately thin batter.
