Judge Bird, of The Dalles will proba

of Powder river, procured the arrest of
her son Chas. Herring, on a charge of
assault with a deadly weapon, The
case came up for hearing before Judge
Gpodall, last Tuesday, when Herring
waived examination and was placed
under bonds of $500' to appear at the
spring term of court.
But very little interest was taken in
the city election last Monday, there
being but ouo tiokct and tho only
competition being for Recorder, be
tween Marion Davis and Jerry Thom-
