THE If A TA , It A V. Ring out the bells, let them chime, let a sleeping world awake; let the mill ions of earth catch the first; Wains of the morning. This is thc Savioi's na tal morn. Just 1889 years ago, (com monly supped 1885) tic choirs of the celestial world walked out on the cor ridors of Heaven, and plumed their pinions, and through the trackless ether they made their way lo this world of ours, and to the shepherds that watched their flocks by night on Uoihlehem's plains, they attuned their harps and voices, and a minstrelsy of music broke forth that was unlike any music the watchers had over heard before, and the announcement was made that the Chiist is born, and the choral refrain was sung by them "peace on earth, good will to men." Those angels, that song of annunciation, the heraldry of thoso shepherds, the babe in the man ger, tho virgin Mary, the Annointed, the scenes of his early youth, his bap tism, his temptation in the wilderness, his miracles, his life, his suuVrings in the garden, Ins arraignment before Pilate, his crucifixion, his last words, his -death, his resurrection, and his ascension, together with what he said when on earth, lias turned the world upside down. His sayings have gone on errands of mercy and consolation to il. 1. 1 11 .1 i -r r uie novel, as wen as tne paiaec. J lis teachings hare permeated all govern ments, and like leaven in the barrel of meal, tho whole earth is feeling his potent influence for good. A higher state o culture, and a loftier concep tion of national and international gov ernment has prevailed. Our literature is purer, and our poetry more sublime. Ho is to-day the grandest star that shines in any galaxy, the centrality of human thought and human adoration His pure character and lovely life arc not to bo impeached, j t never has been done bv any one from the days of Porphyry to the present. To do it would be to register oneself an idiot or or a perverse fopl. Let his name be over, and in all. ' Let the babling mil- I? .i uons oi cariu say gloria in cxcelsis, and then Heaven will say Amen. I A Safeguard. Tlie fatal rapidity with which slight Colds and Coughs frequently develop into the gravest maladies of the throat and lungs, is a consideration which should impel every prudent jiersou to kcon at Hand, m a household remedy, a bottle of AYER'S CIIERKY PECTORAL. Nothing clso Rives such immediate relief ami works so sure a cure In all affections of this class. That eminent phvsieian. Prof. F. Sweetzer, of the Maine iledical School, Brunswick, Me., says : "Medical science baa produced no other ano dyne expectorant so good as Atbr's Cherry Pbctorai.. It in Invaluable for diacaBes of the throat and lungs." J i The same opinion U expressed lv the ' well-known Dr. L. J.Addison, of Chicago, 111., who says: MI hare never found, In thirty -five years of continuous study and practice of medicine, any preparation of so preat yalucas Ayku'sC'heuuy 1'ectorai,, for treatment of diseases of the throat and lungs. It not only breaks up colds nnd cures severe coughs, but Is more effective than anything else ln relieving even the most serious bronchial and pulmonary affections." AYER'S Cherry Pectoral J not a new claimant for popular confi dence, hut a medicine which U to-day saving tlio liven of the third generation,' vh6 have come info being since it was lirxt offered to tlie public. There Is not si housojiokl in which thin invaluable remedy "Tins once been in troduced where lis use has ever been abandoned, nnd there Is not :i person who has ever given it a proper trial for any throat or lung disease suscep tible of cure, who has not been made welt br if. AYEli-S CHERRY TECTORAl, has, in numberless instances, cured obstinate cases of chronic Bronchitis, Laryngitis, nnd even acute Pneumonia, and has saved many patients in the earlier stages of Pulmonary Consumption. It is n medicine that only requires to be taken in small doses, is pleasant to the taste, and is needed in every house where there arc children, as there is nothing so good as AYER'S CHERRY PECTORAL for treat ment of Croup and Whooping Cough. These arc all plain facts, which can be verified by anybody, and should be re membered by everybody. Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, PREPARED BY Dr. J. C. Ayer & Co Lowell, Mass. Sold by all Druggists.
