ItOSEBURG REVIEW- FRIDAY, SEPT. 25, 1885. A JttT. SCOTT yETTS. Miss Martha Welker, who has been absent on South Deer creek for the past two months in among us acjain. j Tho roads weie never in better con dition than at present as we haWe liaJ just rain enough to solidify the iTust Alfred and Isaac Mathews were seen driving some fat cattle towards town this week, presumably for Isaac's shop. W. R. Atteibury has returned from his trip to Jackson county and one of our fair one's countenance is beaming with smiles. v ' Miss Ella Ragon, of Roseburg, who taught the Mt. Scott school last year. was visiting her many friends of this place last week. Butler Atterburv is one of our mos enterprising young gentlemen, making a round trip from his place to Rose Iburg, with a four-horse team every day, hauling wheat. j Mrs. John Chapman's two brothers from the East are visiting her, whom they had not seen for over thirty years. We understand that they think of per manently locating in this country. The singing school which is held on every Sabbath at Oak creek church, under the supervision and instruction of Perry Duncan is progressing nicely, and the pupils are learning rapidly. We are sorry to learn that our old friend, Wnu Trask, of this place, started for Portland this morning to seek med ical aid. ' He has been ailing since his return from the East last Summer and now he is troubled with a difficulty in breathing, having to walk some entire nights in order to obtain relief. I Dr. H. C. Davis of this place gave a private lecture to gentlemen only at Fall creek school house on last Sunday which was listened to with interest by an attentive audience. He. will give a free and public lecture at Oak creek church next Sabbath on the origin of man. i Sept. 16th. Faber. Sugar l'ltie Items' Travel is increasing. Brownell of Em pire City. Mrs. Wm. Ne scaroe. ;Times very dull. John Kerley is sowing his summer fallow. H. McNabb will tako charge of J. H. The party given at Shambrook's ferry proved a grand' sn cces3 and was largely attended. 1 Miss Looney, who has been visiting relatives for the past two weeks has returned to her hoiae in Lano county. Hon. T. Barnard and wife returned home on Wednesday evening from a visit of five weeks, looking hearty and well. Nimrod. Sept. 17th. . It is said that there is no kind of feed that will keep horses in health, give them a sleek appearance and make (them lively and spirted like the seed of the sunflower, feeding half a pint night and morning. It is particularly recom mended for giving a horse power of en durance, being fed half a pint night and morning with other feed. The stalks and heads, after the seed is worked out, also make good material for firas, and are especially convenient iu summer, when a quick fire is desired and an en during heat in not wanted. In their growth they make a tihowy appearance about dwelling and give an agreeable fragrance to the air. The latest direc tion in the lino of utilization of the sun flower 13 the planting of a seed in a place at the proper distances, so that the stalks as they grow will serve as bean-poles. The Grant's Pass Courier has the following concerning the exportation of sugar pine lumber from Miller & Co's mill near that place: Hon. H. B. Miller informs us that ho has shipped a car load of sugar pine lumbar to the Bash and door factory at Walla Walla. Also that he has received an order from Los Angeles, Cab, for 30,000 ft. It is also an important fact that the Kamm building, Portland, costing $100,000, is finished with Grant's Pass sugar pine and red wood. The mill is now cutting about 200,000 feec per month, and or ders are coming in fron Medford and other points on tho O. t C. road. QBUST HEALTH Is not always rryoyea by those who seem to possess it. The taint of corrupted blood maybe setTetly undermining t he constitution. In time, the poiwu will cer tainly fchow its effects, and w it h all I he more virukmee the longer it luis been allowed to permeate tho system. Each pimple, fly. boil, nkin disorder and sense of unnatural lassitude, or languor, is one of Nature's waniuigs of the consequences of neglect. A yer s Sarsaparilla Ts the only remedy that can be relied upon, in all cases, to eradicate the taint of hered itary disease ami the social corruptions of the blood. It is the only alterative that is mftieientiy powerful to'thorouhly cleanse the system of Scrofulous anil Mercurial impurities and the pollution of Contagious Diseases. It also neu tralizes the poisons left bv Diphtheria and Scarlet Fever, ami enables rapid recuperation from the enfeebleineut and debility caused by these diseases. Myriads of Cures Achieved by Ayer's Sarsaparilla, in the past J"ortv years, are attested, and there ia no blood disease, at all possible of cure, that will not yield to it. Whatever the ailments of this class, and wherever found, from the scurvy of the Arctic circle to the veldt-sores" of South Africa, this rem edy lias afforded health to the sufl'ercrs by whom it was employed. Druggists everywhere can cite numerous cases, with in their personal knowledge, of remark able cures wrought by it, where all other treatment had been unavailing. People will do well to Trust Nothing Else than Ayer's Sarsaparilla.' Numerous crude mixtures are offered to the public as "blood purifiers," which only allure the pstient with the pretense of many cheap doses, and with which it is folly to experiment while disease is steadily " be coming more deep-seated and difficult of cure. Some of these mixtures do much lastintr harm. Bear in mind that the only medicine that cau radically purify the Vitiated blood is Ayer's Sarsaparilla, . PREPARED BY Dr. J. C.
