Mrs. Diona Gag, wife . of J?sse Gage,
of this city, died at the family resideuce on
the IGtli inst., of paralysis, in the 53d year
of her ago. Mrs. G. had been for many
years a consistent member of the Baptist
chnreh and was universally loved and re
spected. She leaves a husband and several
children to mouru her death aud to whom
the sympathies of the community are ex

was 17 years old and was born in Iowa,
but prior to coming to Rosehurg re
sided with his parents at Cresswell,
Lane county, this State. The imme
diate cause of his death was a congestive

If with the incontrovertible evidence
of fraud and chicanery as contained in
Huntington's letters to Colton Congress
does not dispossesp the Central Pacific
crowd of the Texas Land Grant, it will
indeed be a surprise to the country. In
1878 Huntington distinctly stated that
the land in this grant ought to revert
to the public donnin. The only change
in the attitude of the grant since then,
i-, that it will now enrich Huntington
k Co instead of Tom Scott.
If the Republican party contains the
morality which they assume, why will
