It has been contended by many fishermen who have watched Fa cial C"ast salmon to ascertain their habits, that the salmon never return to tho ocean, and that after spawning the salmon naturally, then and there, end their exist ence. The same fishermen have also argued aa proof the diseased condition, of the salmon when haying reHcbed tl.eir spawning beds miles trora the ocean in the fresh risers and streams.
