a bandaged and a painful eye that
has been under the care of the doc
tor for a day or two. It came about,
from handling of paper money at
the Ladd & Bush bank, where Mr.
Gatch is employed and has been for
many years. Mr. Gatch is usually
very careful in the hand ling of
paper money, as all bank people
who are acquainted with its danger
But this time he rubbbed his eye
after counting a package of "green
backs" and conveyed a germ thereto
which caused the soreness, requir
ing the attention of a physician and
the bandage. Salem Statesman.
