the Richland district for some time, closed
her school next Friday with an interest

Some of the candidates are already out
still-hunting and there are more to follow.
For the benefit of those who are not skill
ed in politics I would say, wait until the
farmers eet through with their work so
they can take a pensive hour to listen,
The sudden change in the weather was
very exceptable to the average farmer, as
the few hot days are bad dried the ground
op considerable and it was very hard on
the teams. But now they are more hope
ful of getting through with the large lot
of spring work that awaits the average
farmer. - The fall grain looks very prom
ising and if nothing happens there will
be a large harvest.
A certain young man notliving a great
way from here, togged himself op in his
best suit, hitched up his driving horse to
the top buggy and hied himself away to
get a lady friend to go to the entertain
ment at Richland. Presenting himself
at the door of the young lady's home he
exclaimed "Are you ready ?" To his sur
prise she told him that he had made a
wonderful mistake in the date as the en
tertainment did not take place for a week
hence. ;
Barney Cady began work in real ear
nest in his hop yard Monday morning.
The warm days were instrumental in push
ing the vines skyward, hence a large
force is employed in training -this week.
He has about fifteen, made up of men,
women and boys and girls, and needless
to say that mirth and jollity is not a
stranger to them. -
