Physician. GRECGft SPECSrIEW CAR. (Fom the TeTcS"ani) The plan of an immigration board on wheels meets a hearty co-operative feel ing in all of the state. The press warm ly approves and promises all possible aid. The f-JaVin Tvini Talk say?: '-In our judgment the wisest move the board of iu migration has vet made has been to take the preliminary steps toward load ing a ear with Oregon products grains, minerals, woods, fruits, vegetables, etc. It was this scheme, more than any oth er of the kind, that gave northern Da kota a fpuarter of a million immigrants. Marion county will have .some continent -astoiiishers hung up in that car.' Mr. -Thos. B. Lang, secretary of The Dalles board of trade, writes that the idea of a specimen car for eastern travel is warm ly applauded, and that a special meeting bi the board has oen called to take ac ive in f azures toward co-operation in be half of Wasco county. - Lane county through the efforts of Ceo. W. Miller, immigration agent, and a large number of her prominent farm ers, will he fully represented in the car. There is some thought of sending the car over the railway lines in Oregon as a convenient way to gather up the spec imens. Dates for each of the chief rail way towns in the country could be made and the contributions be sent along in pume bhizpe. By express to-day Secretary Carlisle of the state board of immigration se cured the lirst installment of Oregon products for the cor which will soon be feioit east. This consists of a "bouquet" of grain, composed of nineteen varieties of wheat, one variety of rye. This bunch S3 a perfect beauty, j?orue of the heads beii'.u from oight to ten inches long and tilled with large, plump golden irrains. It will make some of the old farmers, both in the east and west, stare -with astonishment and admiration. This Cjrain was grown on the farm of George Pelshaw, in Line county. From Lane county two splendid specimens of clover were also received to-day. One is a sim ple' of red clover (second crop) which was cut o l the 27th of June. Thi stalks are fully three feet long. The other is H specimen of white clover,- about twen ty inches long, cut from the second crop this year. Oregon against the world. One would think from his appearance and ways he had not had senatorial cares and disap pointments, but that he was some young lawyer just starting out in the heyday of youthful expectations. We consider it the greatest of all triumphs to never get old, and that' triumph Mr. Mitchell has achieved.
