Mr. John Waud has had a house

Mr. J. Y. Bnvis has laid our. a thous
and dollars improving his farm during

Mr. J. V. Hudson has built him a
nice house, and is building himself up a
charming home.
John T. McXulty received a svere
kick from a horse the other day which
has laid him up.
Mr. J. S. Davenport always carries a
fall stock of goods, aud a great vuriety
desirable articles.
Esq, Perry's orchard has been very
fruitful this year, one tree btar 15 bush
els, one 1G, and oue 17.

Mechanics' Fair, one of Maud Morrison
and one of Dr. Mrs. Yergain.
We notice some one has defaced an

This is a very low down business, and
ought to lie a penal offense, if it is not.
Miss Alice Walker from The Dalles
has been visiting her brothers, Clarence
and Orville Garrison in this County.
She is soon to return, if t-he has not al
ready. Mr. Bancroft, of the firm of A. L.
Bancroft it Co., San Francisco, was pres
ent at the preaching on Sunday, and
- contributed liberally towards the pur
chase of a new stove.
Mr. John Edinondjt reports that the
dance at Thomas Cloninger's was a grand
- success, all the luxuries of the 'eason
were bountifully supplied and cooked iu
a way to make them most palatable.
