He that thinks himself the happiest man is really so; but he that thinks L himself the wiaest,is generally the great est fool. The illustrious planet Venus is now L visible in the wee Btua' hours, and a great many young couples plan it to sit p up to see her. ; A lady who was very anxious that her fiance, a young student in college, f should creditably pass his examination; had masses said in church daily tor bis success. : A Hartford paper reports the erec tion of a new shirt at Middletou, Conn., whence it is to be inferred that the man ufactury -of eld ahirts is no longer profit- able. Neither God nor man expects 3 wife to submit to brutality ; but ' a woman whofiuding herself outgrowing her hus band or disappointed in him, yet takes up the cross, and, fitting her shoulders to it, bears it In silence to her life's end, has joys the world knows not of, and reaches the highest. type of womanhood.
