We this week commence the second volume of the Oregon Republicax. The March term of the County Court, Jndge Myers presiding, was in Session this week. No business of importance before the Court. The Portland mails faded to reach us on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, owing to high water. The weather for the past week has been so rainy that but little has been done by way of business in any line. There has been consider able plowing done the past winter, and the farmers are now anxiously waiting for a change of weather more favorable for seeding. There will be more seeding than common done this spring, if the rains do not continue too late. Several citizens of Polk County have con- eluded to emigrate as soon as spring opens, and have now gone to Eastern Oregon to pick out some location, preparatory to moving their families. Mr. W. G. This Company offers greater inducements than any other Company in the Union. Under the Massachusetts Jaw, policies do not exnire at the termination of the time for r i which parties have paid, as with Companies under other laws. A party paying charges due for one year, secures one year and three days grace on the next payment The same proportion for two, three, five, or ten years. For reference as to the punctuality with which this Company meet their demands, we would refer to the case of Dr. R. Johnson, whose pol icy was paid in fifty-five days after his death. Mr. M., during his stay here, will give all who wish an opportunity of availing themselves of securing an inheritance to their heirs, which is as safe as houses or lands.
