Since last week we have heard nothing farther of the Sheridan ville s il rer lead, but yesterday- we saw a very rich specimen of gold quart in tho possession of Mr, D, Coaper, who declines at present to state where he found it. Tho lead whence it came is rich indeed, and we hope that Mr. C. will eoon be able to develop his discovery o as to make it public. It has long been known that gold in email quantities, existed in ..this neigh t, V. .3 I s vruyU, bdu it is but reasonable to supposo that a rich deposit lies hidden somewhere near Ellendalb FAOTonr. The Ellendala Wool en Factory started up on Wednesday last, on wooi wiuoti was procured from San Francisco it' is thought that there is nothing to hinder the mill from becoming a source of profit un dor the present management. The machinery baa qeen overhauled throughout and thorough ly cleaned. The class of goods made this summer will be better and mojro finely finished than heretofore. The fabrics manufactured this spring will be such asj are suitable for spring and summer wearing apparel. ; No blankets will be made until late in the season. Real Estate. -Of course wo feel the need of a more dense population! in this county, and, nnlike many, d&ire t have it known abroad that we have cheap real estate and. that our landlords are willing to sell to actual resi dents. Our farming lands are not inferior to any in, the State, and can be purchased at from $5 to $10 per acre with the improvements into the bargain. As the best evidence of this we will mention the sale of a tract of 180 acres a few days since, located on the rich bottoms of the Yamhill, that brought at auction $3 per acre. Another tract, located within a milo of town, "was sold last week at private salo for $i per aero. Wo invito those i seekin? farms to 1 " visit this section before purchasing elsewhere. rmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm January 12th, 1870, John&y, son of David and Lauretta Jane Johnston, of infUuiuiatory rheumatism. j Resolution adopted by the ...
